Q: Is shark halaal in the Hanafi Mazhab?

Q: Is it permissible to eat shark flesh?

Q: If I find a fish already dead in the sea, will it be considered as carrion? Can I eat it?

Q:

1. Is calamari makrooh or haraam in the Hanafi madhab?

2. If food has been touched or contaminated by calamari, will that make the food makrooh or haraam?

3. Also, if one has to eat calamari will he be sinful?

Q: I’m a follower of the Hanafi mazhab and I’d like to know if it’s permissible for me to taste foods such as oyster, shrimp, lobsters, etc. Although it’s not allowed according to Imam Abu Haneefah (rahimahullah) but according to Imam Shaafi’ee (rahimahullah) and Imam Maalik (rahimahullah) it would be fine to eat such foods. Since they are all correct mazaahib and its only a matter regarding food shouldn’t it be jaaiz for me to eat them, if not could I not atleast eat/taste them once.

Q: Are prawns halaal? Some say that it is halaal because it is a sea creature but others consider it haraam.

Q: I would like to know if it is permissible for hanafis to eat prawns

Q: I was aware that seafood is halaal. Keeping that in mind, I ate squid, octopus and mussels. When I researched later, I found out it is not halaal. Could you please confirm whether it was halaal or not? If it is not, how can I repent? This action was done unintentionally.

Q: Is eating indian freshwater catfish halal? I have heard that it doesn't have scales. Is consumption of fish which don't have scales halaal?

Q: The Quraan states that all underwater creatures are Halaal for Muslims. But, some Moulanas say that shark, crab and octopus are excluded. Is this correct or can we Muslims freely consume all underwater creatures?
