2. Can one travel after the burial of a close relative like the husband of one’s sister to console one's sister and others?
Q: In Islam, is offering condolences limited to three days? If a person passes away on Monday and is buried on Tuesday, how will one calculate three days? From the day he passed away or the day he was buried?
Q: I wish to inquire what is the mas’alah with regards to women attending the funeral home of the deceased on the day of the janaazah. Please enlighten us with regards to the following:
1. Is it permissible for the general women of the community who are not the close family of the deceased to attend the home of the mayyit on the day of the janaazah as is the practice nowadays?
2. The mayyit house gets packed to capacity with women of the community (not necessarily the close family members but the general women). Will this be considered as causing takleef to the bereaved women of the house or not?
3. Which women are regarded as the close family members of the deceased?
4. Please explain the proper Shar’ee procedure for women to follow with regards to attending funeral homes?
Q: My uncle passed away few months ago and I would like to know after burial what needs to be done. Some people have gathering at home for 3 days and some people have gathering for 13 days and some people have gathering for 40 days could you please tell me which group is correct. Also people have told us to have a special dua on 40 days then on 6 months of the death and the last one at 1 year after the death. Can you please tell us what is the correct thing to do?

Q: When a person dies, then people make it compulsory to visit the family of the deceased on Eid Day. Is there any basis for visiting the family of the deceased on the the first eid after the demise of the deceased? Is there any basis for this action or is it a Bid'ah practice?
