Is it compulsory to grow a beard?

Q: Is growing a beard compulsory?

A: It is waajib (compulsory) for a male to grow a beard to the extent of one fist. Shaving or cutting and trimming it before one fist is not permissible. 

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
