Q: I am a working as a teacher from the past 7 Years. I had a student who be my student for 4 years. She wears proper Hijab/ abaya in my presence. In the third year she called me Baba (Father) and from then we became father and daughter.
Now my question for you is that is it allowed in Islam to have any relation like this?
Secondly and most importantly she sometimes puts her head on my shoulder and I, many times give bosa (kiss) to her head only. Till now the intentions are pure but is it allowed in Islam? or just to have relation is allowed or bosa (kiss) or other acts like this are not allowed.
A: It is not permissible for a male to be casual or to have any type of contact with a non-mahram female. Islam commands segregation between males and females. Apart from this relationship being impermissible, it generally leads to many types of sins and wrongs. Furthermore, this type of relationship causes people to entertain doubts and suspicions regarding the non-mahram male and female. The Hadith prohibits us from conducting in a way that we cause people to entertain suspicions and doubts regarding ourselves. It is also reported in the Hadith that when a non-mahram male and female remain in seclusion, then the third one present is shaitaan.
It appears in the Hadith that once Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) questioned the Sahaabah (Radiallahu Anhum) as to what was the most beneficial thing for women (i.e. the thing most beloved in the sight of Allah Ta’ala and most safeguarding for their deen). None of the Sahaabah had given any answer to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in that gathering. When Ali (Radiallahu Anhu) returned home and informed Fatima (Radiallahu Anha) of the question Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) posed to the Sahaabah, she spontaneously answered “the thing most beneficial for women and most beloved in the sight of Allah Ta’aala in safeguarding their deen is that they do not have any contact with men (looking, meeting etc.) and that men do not have any contact with them.” When Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was informed of the response of Fatima (Radiallahu Anha), Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Fatima is part of me.”
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
