Q: If a person started praying a particular prayer, but before he could complete that prayer, the prayer time ended, and a new prayer time began. Does he then need to repeat his prayer, or would the prayer that he already prayed be considered a Qada prayer, and therefore there is no need for him to repeat his prayer?

Q:
a) Is there a difference of opinion within the Hanafi madhab on this? Some scholars state that if one started Zuhr, and the Salah time expired while
praying Zuhr, then one has to repeat the prayer. Or is there unanimity on this issue within the madhab?
b) If one just said the Takbeer-e-Tahreemah, and then the Azaan for the next Salah was given, even in this scenario he is to continue praying (and there is no need for him to repeat his prayer)?
A:
1. There is no difference of opinion in regard to the Salaah being valid in the case where one commenced the Salaah before the time expired and completed the Salaah after the time of the next Salaah commenced. However, in the case of fajr, if one commenced the fardh Salaah of fajr before sunrise and completed the Salaah after sunrise, the Salaah will not be valid, instead the Salaah will break with sunrise. One will have to repeat the Salaah. As far as the other fardh Salaah are concerned besides fajr, through the time expiring the Salaah will not become invalid.
2. As above.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
