Becoming a police officer

Q: I live in canada and have studied to become a police officer. Praise be to Allah he has guided me to be closer to him. Originally I didn’t think there was anything wrong with being a police officer. However recently I have read some websites that have declared it an act of kufr and shirk. Now my life has come to a halt because I’m unsure of what to do.

The reasons they gave for it being an act of kufr or shirk are:

1) I am enforcing man made laws

2) I have to take an oath

3) there is a tiny cross on top of a crown on the police arm patches ( could I just cover the cross)?

4) I may have to arrest muslims who break the law and the courts here are non Islamic as well as the jails.

5) domestic abuse is a big problem here, I may get called and if one of the spouses feels threatened or does not want the other to be around or they look physically abused, then I will have to arrest the perpetrator for the safety of the other until something is figured out between them personally or in court.

6) I would be assisting in sin because laws here permit things like drinking, however public intoxication isn’t permitted and I could ticket them if I chose to or if it’s really bad, I could arrest them. but, logically I wouldn’t be able to ticket everyone, if anyone at all, unless they are causing problems.

For your reference these are the oaths, I would have to take:

I solemnly swear (affirm) that I will be loyal to Her Majesty the Queen and to Canada, and that I will uphold the Constitution of Canada and that I will, to the best of my ability, preserve the peace, prevent offences and discharge my other duties as (insert name of office) faithfully, impartially and according to law. So help me God. (Omit this line in an affirmation.) or I solemnly swear (affirm) that I will be loyal to Canada, and that I will uphold the Constitution of Canada and that I will, to the best of my ability, preserve the peace, prevent offences and discharge my other duties as (insert name of office) faithfully, impartially and according to law. Becoming an actor

Q: Is film acting allowed in Islam. For women it is clear, they do gunah because they are not in hijab. But what about the men who play different roles in the drama serials. Are they not doing gunah. Please explain this matter.

Female working in an old age home

Q: I am a student who works at a taxi call center and I sometimes have to book taxis for people who come and go from bars and night clubs. I have been questioning a lot if my job is haram but I am not sure if I am directly involved in their sins. Because of the uncertanity I decided to apply for a second job in the hopes of quiting this one. I applied for a job at a group home to help seniors and people with disabilities, but I have not taken the job yet as there are different views about a female person working in such settings. I applied for this job because I thought it would be rewarding to take care of someone in need. Is it okay to work there if I take care of women only or if I just help them around the house without having to see their awrah? I am really struggling to find a halal job.

Recruiting agencies charging fees

Q: Can we do a job in which we get employed through recruiting offices/agencies who take some commission (usually some percent from their first salary) from the candidates they employ and the company whom they recruit these candidates. Sometimes they take commission from the company only and keep totally free from the candidates, they do not take commission from the candidates.

In both the above scenarios, will the job for the candidates be haraam? Will the income, etc or anything be haraam? Will it be a sin? And what if they take fees and not commission from the candidates and may take commission from the company then what will be the answer? It's not impossible but it is quite difficult to find jobs without the help of recruiting agencies/companies.

Working as a software engineer

Q: I have a job offer as a Software Engineer from a company who call themselves as Robot Advisory Company or Wealth Management company. The company is a software firm, they have developed software solution that manages wealth. It is Business to Business model (B2B). One part of their software is "Intelligent Advisor" whose customers are mainly banks, insurance companies, e-commerce, telecommunication companies and other financial institutions. "Intelligent Advisor is a proprietary algorithm-ranking tool for relationship managers to improve customer experience and that empowers relationship managers with the ability to advise their clients more efficiently".

My Question is, is it permissible to work for that company as they are giving service to banks.
