Q: I am a married woman with a kid. My family stopped talking to me since my mother is under pressure from my other siblings by not giving me respect and always taunting me about my past mistakes. Due to which I maintain some distance with my family. Am I doing any zulm to my family by a keeping distance. They are all well off and I feel they need me except to be subservient.
Q: My question is if a friend who is a relative also speaks wrong about me behind me and fights with me often on very petty issues and always tries to find a reason to show me down. Is it haraam to stop talking to such a person? I have cut the contacts with her because I can't take it every now and then. Please guide.
Q: Is it permissible to stay away from family and friends (just attend to their needs when and where required) and not socialize much?
Q: Is keeping in touch with relatives wajib. I mean contacting them by phone once in a month or two?
Q: I have two close relatives. Actually very close. One of them fought with me and insulted my husband very badly, his wife and kids were involved in it. At that time we were staying at their house while visiting from another country. The next day the couple apologised to me as they were my relatives. We both forgave them. When we came to our home, he then called me via phone brought up the same topic and started screaming and yelling at me in a very insolent way. I hung up the phone then he wrote an email sent it to all my siblings and said very insulting and awful things about me and my kids, all my siblings were shocked that he talked to me in such a bad manner through email. We have not talked to each other since over one year and he is 10 years younger than me, same kind of situation happened between his sister and I.
This year InshaAllah I am going for Hajj along with my husband. Some one said I should call and talk to him, I did not do anything wrong. It's them who really hurt my feelings along with my husband's within this period of one year. I have been hearing that he has been rubbish talking about me. Will our Hajj be qubool if we don't call him or God forbid not. Will you please guide us?
Q: I would like to know if breaking ties with a family member is allowed, because my husband's sister does all the wrong stuff like going clubbing she and indulges in adultery, smoking, consuming alcohol and drugs. The only reason that I have to keep contact with her is because she had taken a loan from me and still has not returned it, but as soon as she pays me back I would like to break every relation with her, because I feel that she is a bad influence and I also have 2 daughters growing up so I would like to know if my decsion is correct?
