Laws pertaining to Slaughtering

Making intention for the person who purchased the qurbaani animal when slaughtering

Q: This year I gave my qurbaani money to the Muazzin and told him to give it to his family in Mozambique and purchase an animal for qurbaani. They purchased a goat.

My question is: In order for my qurbaani to be valid, is it necessary for the one slaughtering to make a niyyah to slaughter on my behalf?

Abattoir shooting a bull in the head after slaughtering it

Q: I heard from someone that they had their bulls slaughtered at an abattoir on Eid ul Adha.

This is how it happened: they put the bull normally in a cage then turn it to its side, they slaughter it properly but they said that after they slaughter it, the abattoir shoots it in the head.

The reason for this is because after slaughtering it then the brain is still active so that is what the muscle of the bull contracts (the animal is dead once its slaughtered).

Then immediately it gets sliced same time. I wanted to know if this is ok?

Stunning animals before slaughter

Q: Can Mufti Saheb please explain how come stunning of animals before slaughter is not permissible. I only eat the meat of unstunned animals and my family members are saying that they have never heard of this and I'm making up my own rules and all these years everyone has been eating meat certified by Sanha.

I was also told that by stunning of all animals, is torture to the animal, can result in death, which is hard to ascertain at the time of slaughter, as the animal is already unconscious due to stunning, and that it also prevents the animal from kicking and the heart pumping out all the najis blood that makes it halaal, as the Islamic way of slaughter (as one has to cut the jugular and 2/3 arteries in order for all the najis blood to flow out) and that stunning of livestock (cows, sheep etc.) is reversible. In this case won't the meat of the animal that is stunned be carrion and haraam in any case?

Using slaughtering equipment from a non-Muslim butchery

Q: I would like to know whether the meat will be halaal or not. After investigating at a specific butchery (which is not halaal as normal), they use seperate blades and machines for pork and other meat e.g. cow, sheep. What if a Muslim borrows their machine and blade (slaughtering tools) and slaughters according to Islamic way; what will be the state of that meat?
