Q: Some scholars say it is not permissible to make Islamic videos or take videos, but viewing it is permissible because Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) looked at idols, therefore it is permissible to view!

Zakaat on property

Q:

  1. If we have bought land at a cost of 10lakhs & we kept that land for a period of 6 years & then we sold at 26.5 lakhs. Do we have to give zakaat on that 6 years? Do we have to give zakat on the profit we got  from it? How much do we have to give 2.5%, less or more?
  2. If I have a property and no income is coming from that property then do I have to give zakaat on cost of that property?
  3. I have a house in which i am not living, but i rented that house. Do I have to give zakaat on the rent I am getting from that house?
  4. We have to give zakaat on gold no doubt. On what rate do we have to give zakaat? On the present rate or on the rate at which we bought it?

Salaatul Istikhaara

Q: I would like to know if it is permissible to recite Salaatul Istikhara even if you only intend on marrying the desired person after a couple of years. I have heard that after reading the Salaah then nikaah should not be delayed. Please can you also tell me more about the Salaatul Istikhara that is read on a persons behalf, also what are the conditions of that Salaah?

Inheritance Question

Q: My father died 25 years back leaving behind his wife (our mother), 3 daughters and one son. 

  1. How will be the estate divided?
  2. I am asking my brother to divide the property and give my share to me but he is not doing so. I have 5 daughters. My husband has already died. I want to give my share to my daughters only in my life. What can be done? Is it possible to write will?

Q: If a grown up unmarried girl dies leaving behind her mother, her four sisters, two uncles (father's brother), one aunt (father's sister), one uncle (mother's brother), one aunt (mother's sister). How will her property be divided?
