Undergoing trials
Q: My baby has been having seizures since birth. He has brain damage and other complications. Doctors are perplexed by his problems. His brain mri shows damage but not that much. Still his seizures are persisting despite taking 4 medications twice a day. Medical science is not able to say with certitude what is making him having these seizures (infantile spasms). My baby is 16 months, doesn’t move, doesn’t talk, doesn’t swallow properly, no neck control. I am so so down. I cry with Allah everyday for my child.
A: Many a time a person goes through these types of trials and it is meant to be a blessing for him. It is just that at the time of the trial you cannot understand how it can turn out to be a blessing. After the passing of many years, the wisdom and goodness begin to unravel. Be pleased with the decision of Allah Ta`ala and He will be ever pleased with you and grant you something far better than you can imagine.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
