Q: The masjid in our area is fairly new. We have, for Jumu'ah, about just over a dozen musallis. It is a mixed congregation of Shaafi and Hanafi. Our imaam for Salaah passed away in September. Since then, while we are looking into appointing a new Imaam, we have invited other Ulama to conduct Jumuah.
The last imam who came, informed us that our Jumuah is problematic as per Imam Shaafi, there should be at least 40 men.
Is it correct? Or can we continue with Jumuah Salaah?
Q: Should one reply to the second azaan before the jumuah khutbah?
Q: Is it a bid’ah to fold the hands in the first part of the khutbah and then put them on the knees on the second part of the khutbah?
Q: Certain 'Ulama in KZN are reading the Jummuah Khutbah from their cellphone. Please comment. Initially they started doing it because they claimed COVID contagion from the kitaab, but now they cannot claim COVID.
Q: We have noticed a new trend where some people take out their phones and read the jumuah or eid khutbah from them, or refer to them when delivering a bayaan. Is it correct to deliver a bayaan or khutbah from a phone, or is this incorrect?
Q: Once the Jumuah khutbah starts, is it permissible to perform the sunnah salaah?
Q: In Jumu'ah prayer in our mosque, the main gate is open and anyone can come in. However, the indoor hall of the mosque, its doors are closed, but not locked, and anyone can come in if he wants to. So is our Jumu'ah prayer valid?
Q: The first Adhaan for Jumuah Salaah in both the Haramain Sharifain is given well before Zawaal sets in. Can one perform the Four Sunnats of Jumuah after the first Adhaan is given i.e. before the time of Zawaal?
The second Adhaan is given exactly when the Dhuhr time sets in and the Khutbah commences immediately thereafter. There is no time to perform the sunnats after the second Adhaan as the khutbah commences immediately, and if one stands up to perform his sunnats, he will be performing his sunnats while the Khutbah is being delivered. Should one rather perform these four sunnats after completing the Jumuah Salaah?
Q: My work includes a lot of site work, where in some cases may be in rural areas where there are no masjids present. Regarding this, in a case where I have to be on that site for multiple weeks, is it allowed to miss Jumuah and read the normal Zuhr Salaah for this reason.
