Woman opening an Instagram account to spread Deen
Q: I cannot choose between using and not using Instagram. Because I'm a female, a private account is better to make so that only women can follow me. I want to make this account so that I can share some short moral stories.
Would it be permissible to do this? Or should a woman stay away from instagram?
A: On account of the abuse and fraudulent practices that go with social media, we do not at all encourage this. You should rather read the Quraan Shareef, conduct taleem of Fazaa'il-e-A`maal, Fazaa'il-e-Sadaqaat, Bahishti Zewar and Seeratul Mustafa and try to improve yourself. See that these books are properly studied and understood correctly, perhaps with the guidance of some aged woman who is very well mannered and knows deen very well, she is humble and righteous in her ways and mannerism.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
