Making a moderate effort to earn a livelihood and placing one's reliance on Allah Ta'ala

Q: If a person does not work hard, he only prays and remembers Allah always for the sake of getting sustenance and money. Can he do this with this intention that Allah will fulfill his needs by invisible help?

A: If he leads a life of taqwa and fulfils his deeni obligations towards Allah Ta'ala and the creation, and he makes a moderate effort to earn his livelihood and places his reliance on Allah Ta'ala, then this is sufficient. In regard to livelihood, the Hadith teaches that one should make a moderate effort to seek one's livelihood and the hadith also teaches that we should trust in Allah Ta'ala.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
