Talaaq through merely nodding one's head

Q: Does nodding or a non-verbal gesture have any validity in Islamic law? Example: When he was asked about divorce , he nodded unintentionally.

A: By merely nodding one's head, talaaq does not take place.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
