Associating with people who are not Deeni inclined

Q: When one's close relations are not Deeni inclined, but they think that they are and argue over matters, which they have no knowledge whatsoever, what should a youngster who is an Aalim or making the effort of Deen do? Responding to the family elders results in him/her becoming ostracised & keeping silent allows them to continue with nonsensical statements such as:

1. Those were Sahabah, we live in different times.

2. Conditions are different.

3. Praying Fardh Salah is sufficient.

4. What's the need to attend Majalis of Ulama attend Bayans or go in Tabligh etc.

5. We are doing Faraidh, which is enough.

6. We have to live and earn in Dunya. In such a scenario, where subtleties don't seem to have the desired effect, what recourse does a person have? When is it permissible, if at all, to disassociate with them?

Family issues

Q: I have some questions that are concerning me greatly. I am my elder sister's wali. My sister has received a marriage proposal from one of my cousins. However he doesn't read all 5 prayers, he only reads Fajr Namaz and attends jumah, he also listens to music, free mixes with non mahram relatives like cousins etc. I should let you know, my sister was negligent with prayer before but she does read all namaz's except fajr and she has also started trying to read fajr as I have continued to encourage and advise her. I feel my sister fears Allah now and is a good girl. Do you think it is wise for us to accept this marriage proposal? My mother has said perhaps my cousin could change after marriage and read all the prayers.

My other question is to do with myself, I have been trying to implement Islam fully into my life and because of this I have stopped conversing with non mahram women even those who are related to me like cousins, I don't speak to them, neither do I look at them, I have stopped watching TV for this reason as well as the fact that it is full of filth. My mother has said that, I have to talk to her friends when they come over to our house and I have to greet them with salam however I have told her I don't wish to do this, as some of her friends who are in their forties/ fifties however wear lots of perfume, make up and tight jeans and I refuse to talk to them but my mother says this is not allowed as they are her friends and is rude and that they are like my mother my mother also says I have to talk to my elderly female neighbour who doesn't wear hijaab and is a Christian, is this allowed Islamically? Also my mother and sister don't wear hijab is it permissible for me to go out with them? I have tried encouraging them to wear Islamically appropriate clothing, but it has not made a difference to them?

Can I go shopping, visit relatives, family with them?

I am working currently and my mother also has a job , she helps people with special needs and down syndrome with their shopping, tidying and the down syndrome man she works with understands girlfriends and relationships and she has to stay and help him in his home alone, she also buys musics cds, haram movies, haram food for him. Is this a halaal job? Please try to answer my question as soon as you can as I am very worried about these issues.

Dua before entering the toilet

Q: How is the dua before entering the bathroom to be said? Is it the top or bottom one? Some books say it as the top one and others say it as the bottom one. Both of them have a slight variation which is a difference between of not having a dhamma (khubthi) and having a dhamma (khubuthi) on the baa in the word which I've put in parenthesis (one without a u and one with a u). As you can see below, one dua has a sukoon on the baa while the other dua has a dhamma on the baa in the words khubthi/khubuthi. Why is there a difference in this dua, if it's the same dua, shouldn't it be said the same way in all the books, why do some books say it differently? And which one is the correct one? Also, do we pronounce the kasra on the last letter of the last word and say wal khabaaithi or wal khabaaith because the transliteration says khabaaith even though you can see that the letter thaa has a kasra below it in both Duas shown below.

Neighbours leaking toilet

Q: I have a dispute with my neighbour and need advice. I live in a townhouse complex with a unit directly above mine. The unit is owned by a Muslim advocate and is rented out. His bathroom is situated directly above my bathroom and over the past 4 years, there has been a leak from his bathroom directly into mine. Initially when I complained about the leak he would have plumbers come out and attend to it. I would then, at my own expense repair my bathroom. Some time later the leak would return and the same thing would happen. This happened about 3 times. I have told him in writing that whilst I have not claimed the costs of repairs from him in the past, I would do so in the future as the situation was getting out of hand. I moved out of the complex and let the unit out. Whilst my tenant was there, the leak returned. Initially it was small and I notified him. he called out his plumbers, but the leak did not stop. The leak then became progressively worse. He called out his plumbers again who said the leak is coming from the roof. There was a problem with the roof area to his unit and despite the fact that his tenants complained about it, he did nothing about it and did not notify the body corporate. The leak got even worse and I notified him and he said there was nothing more he could do and I should call out my own plumbers, which I did. My plumbers thought the leak was due to a blockage in the waste pipe to his unit, but he refused to investigate this. I then undertook to investigate the roof area and the waste pipes myself, but the body corporate refused to allow me to do so, as this is common property. Only he could access the waste pipes through his unit but he refused to do so and wanted me to bring my own plumbers and chop through the walls of his bathroom, which I was advised not to do. Eventually, I had to get a lawyers letter to the body corporate to get them to investigate the roof. They did so, found problems on the roof and repaired it. But the leak persisted. The body corporate then looked at his bathroom and confirmed that the leak was coming from his bathroom. Following notice from the body corporate, he then arranged for a specialist leak detector to come out and the leak was found to be in his unit coming from the wall and base of his shower. In the interim, about 7 months ago, my tenant vacated the unit and I have not been able to secure another tenant because of the nature of the leak and the extent of the damage. All along I have been notifying both him and the body corporate, that this rental income was my sole source of income and that this lack of income placed my in such a poor financial position that I was late on the payment of my levies and the body corporate issued me with a letter of demand. Since the leak has been confirmed to be coming from his unit, I sent him a letter asking him to repair my unit as well as to reimburse me for my financial loss. He has now replied that he is not responsible for my loss, because he called out a plumber and was told by his plumber that there is no problem with his unit. He also states that I should have done more to find the leak myself. I would like to point out that he has not once attended on the unit himself to investigate the leak, even though he lives within 10 minutes. I have asked to meet with him but he is not available. Anytime I send him and email, he will take 1 to 2 weeks to reply and then too only after I follow up with him. I find it unfair that he should bear no responsibility for damage and loss caused by a fault in his unit. I acknowledge that he did call out the same plumber each time, but he never ever supervised their work and did not get a second opinion. Also, how can I be responsible if his plumbers made a mistake. My situation is difficult financially and the loss of income is in excess of R80000.00. The damage to my unit is extensive and it will cost allot of money to repair it. I am also anxious to try and get the matter sorted out asap so I can generate a rental income. Please advise from an Islamic perspective if I am within my rights to ask him to reimburse me for the costs of the repairs and the financial loss.

Doubts

Q:

1) Its 4am and now I am in the state of impurity. I didn't do anything but for boys it happens naturally. So I just woke up from my deep sleep and fajr will be aftr 1 hour and 30 mins and I am confused what to do. Can I just perform ghusl by washing off the impurities and then washing my whole body with the niyyat of ghusl? Do I need to make wudhu too? It will take me 20 minutes to wash my entire body so can I just wash my body and then sleep and then when I wake up for fajr then make wudhu and pray? Is this allowed in islam?

2) Sometimes while doing ghusl a lot of negative doubts arise in my mind and then it takes me around 30 to 40 minutes to finish. Please help me out.

3) Does my wudhu break while chatting to a girl who is my friend and just friend no girl friend. And the chat is decent no bad things.

4) Will sweating break my wudhu?
