Copyright

Q: Kindly provide a ruling for the following:

Zayd gives a book to publisher A for publishing and gives him the copyright. The book is printed in 4 parts, but not printed to a very good standard and quality. Zayd now wants to publish the book with much better quality. He makes changes to the book, changes the name and produces it in one volume. Can he now give the book to publisher B to have it published by the new publisher?

Playing rugby

Q: Is it permissble to play rugby? This is a contact sport in which it is very common one player's awrah to touch another player's awrah through his clothing. For example, one player's thigh touches another player's hip while he tackles him ect. Obviously both players are fully clothed with kit and it's a proper sport not some dodgy game.

Losing competition data

Q: I conducted an online customer satisfaction survey, as incentive all those that completed the survey will be entered into a cash prize draw. Seven
respondents will win R1000.00 each. I lost the data containing the contact details of all those that completed the survey. I never even have the draw as yet. How Do I resolve this, this is my fault because I delayed in administering this payout and now I lost the data. We are trying to recover the lost data but things are not looking very positive.

Husband saying "mere traf sa tum Azad ho"

Q: I have a question about my situation with my wife. We were not fighting over anything only I was stopping her from going to a friend’s place. I said to her that ‘I can’t stop you from going to your friends home, tum meri taraf say azad ho, you can go to her place or but my son can’t go with you…you can go wherever you want to go’. I said that twice exactly *mere traf sa tum Azad ho, tumhei main nahi rok sakta liken mera beta us ke ghar nahi jaie ga*. I did not have any intention of divorce because I cannot think of this act. I am worried about my choice of words as I used the word ‘azaad’.  I am so confused and I had no idea that the word ‘azaad’ also refers to divorce. Please guide.
