Marital and domestic problems

Q: I really like someone. Intially when I introduced him at home everyone agreed and our wedding date was all fixed. There was a delay of six months in our marriage and since we used to see each other frequently and to stay away from gunah we got our nikkah done in a gathering of our close friends in a mosque. None of our family members were part of our nikkah. Later we came back to pakistan so we can officially get married. My finance had a robbery at there home and he requested my dad to help him if he can and it will be a loan on him he has an investment back in canada and will return the money. On the other hand my dad took it in a way that he had demanded money and didn't
even let him explain not even once and broke the marriage 10 days before the wedding. After that my dad used his resources to shut him and his family up and wants me to marry some one else. Now some people are saying that our nikkah is not valid because there was no wali in that nikah. I know I should have not done the nikah but I really want to stay with him and I am quiet because I know my father will never ever agree on this. He even said that even if I take a stand he would not agree and he was against this marriage since day one but was not showing it to me because I wanted it. Can you please shed some light on this matter and help me in this regard?

Finding out the gender of the foetus

Q:

  1. My wife is pregnant so she goes for ultrasound every month (because there is a little problem with pregnancy so doctors want to keep there eyes on it). Every time we go for ultrasound the dr ask us if we know the gender of the baby but I always tell them we don't want to know because this is blessing from Allah so boy or girl doesn't make a different as long as it's healthy but now somebody told my wife that it is ok to know the gender before birth so now she want's to know it which I totally don't agree. Please tell me if it permissible in Islam or not because it's a blessing from Allah?
  2. Once one find out that she's pregnant then until what time they can share the bed or we should stop as soon we find out what does Islam says about these two things please tell us?

Wearing an overall

Q: On Bakri eid we find that many people who usually wear kurthas and sunnat libaas leave the sunnat clothing and wear 3/4 shorts and tshirt, with the excuse that we cannot make Qurbani /work with a kurtha on. Do we find this in the life of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam that he would wear different clothes when doing messy work etc or should one stick to wearing the kurtha when doing hard work etc?

Mandatory insurance

Q: I have to get mandatory insurance for medicine from my work place. Due to this I have the minimum amount. I have used it once it saved me 100$ on medicine. Allhumdulilah I have not needed it again. My mom is a Diabetic, she pays a lot of money close to 150$ For her pills. I will save her close to 80% if I put her on my mandatory health insurance at work. I wanted to know if it's allowed. I probably will have to pay a bit more every month by 1 to 2 dollars not worried about that. Just wanted to know if it's permissible?
