Feeling that one is a Munaafiq

Q: I am not a true Muslim. I try to pray 5 time a day but most of the time I don't pray esha salaah. I read many Islamic books and sometimes I tell the people many good things about Islam but then I think that I am munafiq. I am not following Islam properly then why should I teach the people? Am I right or I am a munafiq?

Using a respirator

Q: A person in hospital is on a respirator and the Doctors advise the family to have the respirator removed.

  1. Does the Shariah permit the use of a respirator?
  2. If it is correct to use a respirator, can the doctors/family decide when to remove the respirator?
  3. If again it is permissible, after what period of time should the doctors/family make the decision?
  4. Is it best to make Istikarah?

Yaseen Khatam

Q: Please can you advise if there is a Hadith in the reading of a Yassen Khatem for a sick person? A person is seriously ill in intensive care and a suggestion is made to read Yaseen Khatem for shifa. Is this according to the Shariah? What number constitutes a Khatem?

Not performing Salaah due to laziness

Q: Zeid doesn't pray salaat regularly because of laziness. He has been told by a Hanafi maulana that this is not kufr (however it is fisq). But, there is an opinion related from Imam Ahmad that leaving salat because of laziness is kufr. If Imam Ahmad's opinion turns out to be the correct one, what will happen to Zeid? Will he be a kafir who is forever destined for hell, or will he be excused since he is a Hanafi and acted according to the information given to him by Hanafi ulema?

Women cutting their hair

Q: I have long hair and I refrain from cutting my hair after I came to know that for women it is impermissible to cut their hair. I observe hijab Alhumdulilah and I was wanting to have a nice hair cut not for any other purpose just because I want to have a nice hair cut once. Will it be permissible to cut my hair or is it haram?

Making Salaam when greeting

Q: I want to know about salaam. I heard or read in book when Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) used to meet any one He use to greet him with salaam and when departing then also with salam. Is it correct if someone says Allah Haafiz or Allah ki hifazaat when departing or Sabaahul Khair? Please  give me some explanation according to Hadith.
