Women leaving the home to study

Q: I’m a college student and something has been bothering me lately. I study for all my exams and everything but I just can’t get good grades. I study almost everyday, I know everything in the exam it’s just that when I get the exam back I either failed or got a really low score. Also, there is always something that happens that end up making me depressed. I also pray to Allah to make everything better, I just wanted to know if there is anything that I should do to help me.

Doubt on whether talaaq took place or not

Q: Out of fear for a court case, the husband wrote in a letter to a lawyer that he and his wife are in the middle/process of separation, in the Dutch languauge. Does this count as 1 talaq or not even 1 at all? He saw this letter that he had once wrote while he was goimng through his emails. He defintly had NO intention to do so and even did not remember he had written this letter until a few days ago. Will this be 1 talaq or no talaq at all, since there was absolutely no intention and saw he wrote this letter almost 8 years ago. Now they are a very happy couple with three kids alhamdulilah.

Hanafi performing asr salaah in Shaafi'ee time

Q: When we go for umrah, all the umrah busses stop for asr prayer according to shafiee time. We (ladies) strictly follow hanafi time. In winters, due to school, we read our zuhur salah after the shafiee asr azan, as hanafi zuhur salaah time is still there. We also read our asr according to hanafi time i.e. late.

So my question is... the bus stops for asr at shafiee time. If we do not get the jamaat, what should we do? Can we read at shafiee time at such circumstances?

Communicating with a non-mahram

Q: From the first day of my college I started talking to a girl in my class. We met everyday and talked about many things. We also chatted on the phone. Days passed and she opened up about her personal life. Her parents got divorced when she was in 4th grade. After 2 years her mother passed away. She's the only child of her parents. After that she was adopted by her maternal uncle and since then she's living with him and his family. We discussed about religion also and she, being a christian, I told her about Islam. College closed for 10 days for holidays. After holidays, classes started again and I started ignoring her. Whenever I see her, I try to run from her. I don't even look at her. But today, while I was sitting in the corner of the class, she came up to me and said: "Why are you ignoring me? Did you forget about me?" and she went away. I felt that she was hurt. What should I do? I try my best not to get emotionally attached to someone because in the past I was hurt by getting attached to someone. As a point of sympathy... I feel that I must talk to her. Please suggest some remedy!
