Husband passing away while the spouses were separated

Q: Me and my husband were living separate and the divorce proceedings were in the court pending . Legally we were not divorced and he never said divorce word to me and while the divorce was pending he passed away his parents and family did not contact me about his passing away and when I said to them he was still my husband because divorce wasn't through yet they said no, in our eyes you are divorced and you have got no right to know he passed away. My question is, was their behaviour right about not letting me know about my husband and telling everyone that they are divorced although divorce wasn't through yet ?

Baseless practice

Q: In our family, when a child is born the first letter of his name is found out according to the time and date of his birth. 2,3 letters are recommended and then the name is kept starting with any one of those letters. This all is done by an Aalim. Is this practice correct?

Changing a name that has kufr connotations

Q: We have named my son Keyaan. A friend drew our attention to the origin of his name. The name is from Irish mythology, also belonged to pagan Persian kings, also found that it is widely used in hindu and tamil community. I have checked the Arabic meaning and it means entity. As for any words, entity also has a vast array of meanings. One of the meanings is ghost or spirit or anything that is living or non living, anything from the unseen. So far I don't see anything positive about the name. Please clarify and let me know whether my findings are correct.

Reprimanding an employee for passing on wrong information

Q: We have a company and an employee went on vacation. Upon his Return, before coming back to the office, he met another employee who told Him that he has been fired. This was incorrect information and hence the Employee (who returned from vacation) didn't show up to the office yet. We are investigating this further to validate if the second employee did or did not pass on the false message of being fired. If this turns out to be true, what should be our action on it?

Correcting one's father

Q: My father is doing milk business. He does adulteration in milk by adding water. I tried to stop him in a calm manner but he kept on doing adulteration and now I fought with him and started yelling to him regarding this wrong act. Am I doing wrong because I tried the other way but he doesn't listen. What should I do? Islam says don't raise voice against your parents but what if they are doing wrong?

Making the niyyat of ihraam before passing the miqaat

Q: My wife made 2 mistakes in umrah. We are worried that we have to give sadaqa, damm or any other fine for that mistake or it can be ignored.

1. Although we left our home with the niyyat of umra, but when the meekat came she didn't make proper niyat by words. She make proper niyat by words when we reached Makkah.

2. During tawaf she covered her face with full burka as she was worried about her hair becoming exposed.
