Q: I had three questions regarding interest:

1. Is a mortgage (on interest) permissible in Islam to purchase a family home?

2. If my parents are pressuring me into purchasing a family home through mortgage rather than renting, am I under obligation to listen to them?

3. If I make a total of the amount of interest my father pays on a regular basis with the intention of persuading him to reduce his loans, is this permissible, and would this be considered “recording interest” which is forbidden in hadith?

Q: Can I travel without a mahram to a different country for my brother's wedding? My husband can't go and he won't let me go without a mahram. If he has already said it to me once and I still have to go, then will he be sinning for letting me go? Won't it be my decision if I want to go or not to go? Is he allowed to force me to do something?

Q: Please can you advise if a bed sheet with stains (possibly not najis, possibly sweat or drooling saliva) has been washed in the washing machine with other stuff but the stain has not been removed fully then is the sheet as well as other stuff rendered impure even after 5 rinses and spins or is it paak. Also is raw fleshy skin due to a burn peeling off on the arm considered pure?

Q: Where I work, we offer the 2.5% settlement discount for all customers if they pay their account within 30 days. This is a practice followed by the business over 30 years and all major customers take this if the ones that pay by the 7th of the following month. we allow this although it is not within the period. is this 2.5% also not allowed. Also, with our holding company (foreign based), we get a 3% discount if we pay the invoices within 14 days from when goods are invoiced. if we pay after 14 days, we cannot take the discount and our credit terms intra group is 60 days. Please let us know whether the practices are allowed as I am in charge of the payments.

Q: I have just found I have cancer. I have sinned a lot and I would like to know what to do in order to prepare for death. I do not know how long I have to live, how can I seek forgiveness in the most sincere way possible?

We live in a 2 family home and things have escalated with his father threatening to hit me because he wants his son to listen to them and only them. He watches haram on tv. Even though I don't see it, it's on the recently browsed on my tv. She has smoked cigarettes in the house knowing I have asthma and hasn't apologized. The list of things can go on and on. I want an apology. I've been stressed out so much and it's not healthy on me or my baby. It's easy for someone to forgive their own siblings and parents. This has also made more disputes arise between my husband and I. I love him and know they are his parents but I don't want to give in without an apology. It's killing me inside. I don't think he should forgive so easily without an apology and forget what his parents and sister have said and done to me especially being pregnant. I'm so stuck.

Q: Can one eat in a restaurant like ocean basket that sells liquor. Can one order take away from a restaurant that sells liquor like ocean basket?

Q: If an animal is born on Eid day, then is it permissible to slaughter it on next eid.

Q: Is it khilaaful adab when couples make sex in a bedroom where an ayaat of the quraan is hanging on the wall in the same bedroom? Please note that the ayaat is written as an calligraphy on a canvas. I also want to know that is calligraphy of the aayahs of quran are khilaaful adab as well?

Q: If a group of people, who are not musaafirs, come late to the musjid after the first Jamaat is over, will it be better for each person to perform his Salaah individually or for them to make a second jamaat? Will the same ruling apply if they perform their Salaah in the sehn of the musjid? (i.e. will it be better for each person to perform his Salaah individually or for them to make a second jamaat in the sehn?)
