Q: What is the ruling on keeping a dog? What rules do we have to follow if we have a dog for safety reasons?

Q: I have a few questions pertaining to murat.

1. What qualifies as murat? Is it just eyes, face, or even the outline of an animate object?
2. I have an embroided picture of people around the kaabah, their faces are not visible, however you can see their bodies and that they are humans, is this picture permissable to have?
3. Can one read salaah in the same room as where murat is displayed?

Q: Can a woman commit suicide to protect herself from rape if she can't kill the person who is trying to rape her? Will she be sinful if she kills the raper?

Q: I wanted to know how to control nafs and I ended up in a site which tells you how to kill it permanently. But I have doubts concerning them. I dont know if it is permissible or not to do this kind of wazifa. We have never heard about these things before. if it is not permisssible, can you tell me how to control your nafs and desires?

Q: Will itr be applied on the hair of a deceased woman or girl just like how itr will be applied for a deceased male?

Q: I am a 36 year old man who was born and lived in India for 20 years and moved to North America now. I am married and have 2 children. Now I am thinking about buying a home on bank loan and of course there will be interest involved. Will this stop me performing Hajj? We (wife & I) did our Umra last year (2012) Allhumdulillah.
