Q: Please provide me the references of this hadith: "The reward of Salaah (Prayers) is multiplied 70 times if Miswaak was used before it."
Q: With regards to the recitation of Quran, I have found two different hadith:
1. Quran should be read not less then seven days:
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: Wahb ibn Munabbih said: Abdullah ibn Amr asked the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him); In how many days should one complete the recitation of the Qur'an? He said: In forty days. He then said: In one month. He again said: In twenty days. He then said: In fifteen days. He then said: In ten days. Finally he said: In seven days. [Sunnah Abu Dawood]
2. Quran should be read not less then three days:
Abd Allah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (Allah be well pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: "Whoever reads the Qur'an in less than three days does not understand (what he recited)" Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nasa'i, Bhukari
I have the following question’s:
Q: Please let me know the authenticity of this hadith and the book of hadith in which it is mentioned.
The Messenger of Allah, (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), said: "Whosoever memorises and preserves for my community forty hadith concerning matters of this religion, Allah will resurrect him on the Day of Judgment in the company of jurists and religious scholars."
I have heard many say this hadith is weak.
Also please explain the meaning of this hadith, does it mean:
Q: Is there a Hadith stating that it is better to buy gold?
Q: Is it correct to say that Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is the word of God?
Q: Can a person’s father marry his son’s mother-in-law and does it have any effect on the son’s nikah?
Q: What is the virtue of having 3 daughters? Is there any virtues?
Q: In the next few days Insha-Allah (September 9th 2010) we will be having the Khatmul Quran for the Taraweeh prayers. A few members of the administration have suggested that sweets (mithia/halwa) be distributed on this occasion while other members have objected saying that the masjid funds cannot be used for such purposes. It should be noted that the masjid has 3 different accounts. 1 is the project account which is used for the construction of the masjid. 2nd is the Zakat account and 3rd is a general account that is used for the masjid maintance/upkeep and to pay for the ongoing expenses (utilities etc.) of the masjid. The members who would like to distribute sweets are of the opinion that this is an expense for the masjid therefore there should be no reservations regarding the matter.
We will be highly grateful if the Ulema can clarify for us the matter in the light of the Islamic Laws of Waqf if it is allowed to use the masjid funds for such purposes.
