How was the Quraan put into sequence?

Q: We have many left behind/lost items in our musjid. Perishable items are also left behind. We wish to make signage boards stating that: Any item left behind or lost will be kept for 7 days and thereafter disposed off. Is this correct?

What about the the 1/3 available for bequest. Can the Islamic heirs agree on how to distribute this on their own through mutual agreement?
