Q: I am a 33 year old woman. I am the maternal aunt of my 12 year old nephew. Is it permissible for the both of us alone to perform umrah?

Q: A woman who is taking a plane to Johannesburg from Durban will become a musaafir once she leaves the town’s boundary. So does that mean a mahram needs to be with her from the time she exits the town or can he meet her at the airport?

Although most of the pages are usable, in view of the above state, can this Quraan Shareef rather be buried?

Q: I would like to know if buying a box with the contents being unknown permissible or not. Example there are 5 closed boxes you cannot open before buying but the estimated value is R100 each. It can be worth more, it can be less. If the estimated value is R100 and it's on an auction platform, the bid can land upto R800 example or can cost you R100. 

Is this permissible to buy? 

Please note that each box will have something and none will be empty but it can be something with very low value. 

Q: Are we as Muslims allowed to eat sourdough bread, as the starter for the bread is fermented for ten days before the bread is made from it?

Q: An adopted girl aged 39 would like to embark on Umrah with her foster mother's brother, as she does not have a mahram. Will it be permitted as she grew up with them since she was 6 weeks old?

1. Charging power bank from hotel socket so one will save some electricity from one's own house 

2. Ironing multiple clothes not to be worn during hotel stay but saving house electricity 

3. Taking back home all the hotel amenities given for drinking like tea, shower products, etc. 

4. Taking leftover items to one's room from the buffet

Q: Can a man have a vasectomy? 

He and his wife have both agreed this is the best way forward because they do not want anymore kids and she does not want to go on any medication or injection. Is a vasectomy allowed in Islam?
