Reciting duas and making zikr during haidh

Q: What can a woman can recite during her periods? Can she recite qurani duas? Can she recite duas of prophet ( Sal-Allah ho Ali hay wasalam)? Can I recite la ill aha illa unta subhanaka innii kuntu minuzalemeen during periods? Is there any special permission required to do this dua as I recite it often without wadu (when I'm not in periods) and many times a day without counting. What can we recite when a girls head isn't covered?

Wazifa for children to become pious

Q: A friend of mine during her pregnancy used to watch wrong films. She also had a habit of masturbation. Now she has a 3 month old son and she is worried that her son will become bad when he grows up. She now is a good Muslim. She want that you tell her any waifza that she can blow on her son for good and pious future. Give her some wazifa for her forgiveness.

E-tolls

Q: I would like to know if it would be Jaiz-correct to use interest-Riba money to pay for eTolls in Guateng.

The points to consider are the following :

1) There are no new roads that were built. These were all existing roads that have been improved by SANRAL.

2) The roads improvement were also done as part of the infrastructure improvement deal for the 2010 world-cup.

3) The alternative routes are not in a good condition and in most cases are not even suitable to be used as alternative routes to and fro from travel destinations.

4) The government already imposes high taxes and specific road taxes via the road levy that are paid via the price of fuel.

5) The consumer-citizen was not correctly consulted by the state to impose such fees on roads (via vote or poll) and the legislation was pushed through very aggressively by the ruling party and those that benefit financially from the eToll income.

6) The majority of the income from eToll leaves the country and is paid to a company in Europe.

7) The improvement of the roads has benefited movement of traffic in some areas, and eased congestion at some peak times.

8) The roads are more safe to drive on and are better lit up in certain areas at night.

As this is a current hot debate in our area, your URGENT attention and response thereof would be most highly appreciated.

Hadith Question

Q: My question is on the hadith that says about the raising of ones children better then how ones parents raised you. Can I please have the reference of the hadith and perhaps some in debt explanation on it?

Self study

Q: In the present times we find a lot of people over enthusiastic in matters of religion which of course is not wrong. However they begin to believe that having learnt word to word translation of the Quran and having read the literal translation of some Hadiths they have  understood the real true meanings of the sacred texts. So much so they start indulging in debates and arguments in religious matters and begin to believe, based on their self acquired knowledge, that only they are in the right path and everyone else is wrong.

My question is:

1. Is self acquired knowledge through reading books alone the correct method?

2. Can One really understand the real meanings of ayats of Quran and the meanings of Hadiths by just reading the English translations?

3. What is the correct method of acquiring religious knowledge.

I have heard a saying "Books teach Words. Men train Men".

Husband not supporting the wife and ill treating her

Q: I have been married for three years. I am a doctor and doing a job since the last 9 years. My in laws are very well off but after marriage my
husband simply said that he cannot bear my expenses and even asked me to give my salary to his mother. I started giving a handsome amount to his mother every month but I had to bear all my expenses myself. My husband also wanted sexual relations as many times a day as he desired and when I refused he beat me when I was four moths pregnant with my first son. At the time of birth of our first son I bore all the expenses myself and I told my husband that I will not give my salary to his mother since I have to look after myself and my son. My husband and his mother started pressurising me to quit my job and when I refused my husband beat me very severely. At that time I was pregnant. Then my mother in law asked me repeatedly to get the pregnancy aborted which I did not and I came to my mother's house in march 2012 and since then I am bearing all the expenses of my kids and me all by myself. My husband does not pay a single penny and hardly ever calls to ask about the kids. In the light of these what does the Shairi'ah say about my not wanting to have any sexual relations with my husband? If I take khulaa what would be the status of my kids knowing that their father does not care about them at all?
