Q: Is it wrong to make Dua for Allah to severely punish in the aakhirah those rulers who oppress the Muslims?
Q: Is there a difference between a Shia and a Salafi?
The Shias have no respect for Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) and the Salafis have incorrect beliefs with regards to Allah. Hence both do not have proper Aqaaid.
Q: If a child is named Abdullah and if he is then called Abballah by someone, is this not changing the meaning of the name to something that is incorrect? As the Arabic word ‘Abd’ means servant but the Arabic word ‘Abb’ is translated to mean father.
Q: I am currently working and looking to buy a car. I am unable to buy it in cash. I have made many attempts for Muslim car dealers to try and purchase the car on credit without interest or going through bank finance. All of them rejected.
I have even proved that I am able to pay it off comfortably with my salary.
I have went to almost every Muslim dealership and all have rejected.
I am able to get a car on bank finance but I do not wish to because of the interest.
Is there any other way of doing it? Is there any other alternative to this?
Q: Previously I should donate any interest accrued monthly.
My father said I rather keep it because he will be buying a big property within a year or two, and we can use the interest for paying the property taxes, municipal rates, etc. which are exorbitant.
Would this be okay - to withhold the interest for sometime with the intention of paying taxes?
Q: I was travelling to Durban and stopped in Harrismith to make Zohr. On my was back I stopped again to make Zohr, and was told after I completed my salah that I was facing the wrong direction. I am not sure if the brother was correct, but do I need to repeat my salaah?
Q: I own a piece of land that I purchased. I would like to transfer it to my wife's name, but I am unable to do so at the moment because I don’t have the funds to cover the expenses. My questions are:
1. If I verbally inform my wife that I am giving her this land, would this transfer be legally valid even though the documents are still in my name?
2. If this verbal transfer is valid, can I inform my parents and siblings that the land belongs to my wife? I have no children, and I want to ensure that they have no claim to it in case I pass away.
3. Transferring property can sometimes take a long time. Is it possible for me to create a will with a notary to address this matter?
Q: Can these musallas be used for new Muslims so they can read the correct du'aas and surahs in salaah?
It's basically a 1.5 metre piece of leather/strong plastic, and printed on it are; Surah Faatiha and two other surahs plus all the du'aas in salaah with an illustration of the posture they're to be recited in.
The idea is for the new Muslim to pray their salaah on this mat, reading from it and following the illustrations as they pray their salaah. This mat goes directly on the ground and the person is standing on it.
Q: Can a new Muslim who doesn't know any surah or duaa and is still learning, recite SubhaanAllah thrice in each posture? Will that suffice until they learn Surah Faatiha?
