Hadith

Explanation of a Hadith

Q: Is this hadeeth saheeh, and what does it mean: “Do not write anything from me, and whoever writes anything but the Qur’aan, let him erase it”? Also Abu Bakr (Radhiyallahu Anhu) at one point was not sure whether to keep what he knows of hadiths or not. He had collected 500 hadiths during very long companionship with the prophet Muhammed (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), but he could not sleep the night until he burned them”. Could you please explain this to me.

Using dhaeef Ahaadeeth for fazaail

Q:

1. Mufti Rasheed Ahmad sahab has written in Ahsan ul Fatawa (Vol. 10 Page 121-126) that weak/zaeef Ahadeeth should not be used even for narrating virtues. Whereas the rest of the ulama allow the use of weak Ahadeeth for virtues. Is the opinion of Mufti Rasheed Ahmad sahab his lone opinion, or do some other renowned ulama also share this opinion? If yes, can you name one or two Ulama please.

2. Was Mufti Rasheed Ahmad sahab also opposed to the Fazail-e-Amaal of Shaykh Zakariya, considering that it also contains weak narrations?

Explanation of a narration

Q: I have a question. Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy on him) in his book 'Humility in Prayer' on last chapter he described a hadeeth narrated by Abu Hurayrah (Radiyallahu Anhu) that Israfeel (Alayhis Salaam) visited the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and Jibreel (Alayhis Salaam) and descended on earth for the first time from his creation. But the angels who visited Ibraheem (Alayhis Salaam), the guests, I found the name Israfeel (Alayhi Salaam) there. Please I hope you'll clarify this matter.

Hadith question

Q:

1) I came across the following Hadith: " The son of Adam (alaih salam) has no better right than that hewould have a house wherein he may live and a piece of cloth whereby he may hide his nakedness and a piece of bread and some water".(Tirmidhi) While the literal meaning of this Hadith is obviously clear, I am not sure what the actual meaning is. Does it mean that if a person has basic needs of housing, clothes, food and water, then he should be content in his life and not have desire for more?Kindly shed light on this.

2) There is another Hadith: "My Sahaaba are like stars, whomever among them you follow, you will be guided.” Is this Hadith authentic?

Hadith question

Q: During the time of the Sahaba there was a girl who's husband had gone out for a few days and asked her not to leave the house. During those few days, the girl's father was sick and she really wanted to see him but had no contact with her husband to ask his permission. Eventually her father passed away and she didn't even attend his funeral as she couldn't disobey her husband's orders. She later found out that her father was doomed to Jahannum but because of her act of obeying her husband, her father was granted Jannah. Is this story true? What is the full story? Would it be a sin to tell anybody this story if it is not authentic?

Q: Suratul Ikhlaas! A man was walking and he saw this written on a wall: 'Qul huwa Allaahu ahad, Allahus Samad, Lam yalid WA lam youlad, Wa lam yakoul lahu koufuwan ahad.' So he sat and read it, while he was reading it a man was watching him and Came to him and said 'Do you know that you have got at least 470 hasanas (Blessings) just for reading this! The person who wrote this on the wall also got 470 hasanas; Even you (who is reading this mail) have 470 hasanas. And you don't even realised that you've read 1/3 of Quran, so press forward and let more people get 470 hasanas, and 1/3 of Quran. Don't forget, each time someone reads this mail and gets hasanat so do you. When there is only a single star left in the sky. At that very moment, the path of forgiveness will close. The writing in the Qur'an will vanish. The sun will lower itself with the earth. Prophet Muhammad SAW said, 'Who ever delivers this news to someone else, I will on the Day of Judgment make for him a place in Jannat.' Please pass this to every Muslim u know, if each muslim says Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilaih 3 times now and forward, in a few seconds billions will have said it and it may calm Allah's anger You've got nothing to loose so pass on. Jazakallah. Is the above authentic?
