Q: After the Eid Salaah at the Eidgaah, I could not find my crocs. However, I found the exact same crocs after everyone left. I took it. Is it permissible for me to keep it?
Q: I stole something which costs around 860 rupees MRP and I want to give the money to the owner 700 rupees but I don't know the owner.
My question is, can I give this money to a poor non Muslim person or to my relatives who are in small debt?
Q: My father keeps his money in my bank account, which mainly comes from monthly shop rent approximately 14 lakhs in total till now.
I used 1.5 lakhs rupees out of those 14 lakhs without my father's permission and started a business which was pretty successful. After a couple of months I put the amount back.
So my question is that the profit that I earned, is it halaal or haraam and should I continue this business?
Q:
1. How do I return money to someone I stole from. I've made taubah over many years and it's not a big amount (under R600) but I'm embarrassed to tell this person as it's a scholar and it may cause this person to distrust me (and I'm not untrustworthy as it was a genuine mistake that I've truly atoned for) and cause disgrace on my family (who are scholars). How can I return it without him knowing I stole it because I don't even live in the same city anymore and I'd have to give the money to a family member who still resides in his city? Is it possible for me to give out the money in charity on his behalf with no expectation of reward and solely give it in his name?
2. Also with regards to having old textbooks from over 20 years ago from primary school, I forgot to return and a T-square from high school my principal borrowed me which I forgot to return all those years. How can I make up for that amaanah?
Q: A student found cash on the road and was in a state of dire need, with not even food at home. She used it up but feels bad. In that condition it was difficult for her to resist. What must we do if no Muslim is willing to assist us?
Q: I bought a phone to sell from someone but when they came to sell it while I'm paying them they say the phone is on contract and they have a way of wiping the name of the person who took the contract off from the database etc. so they don't have to pay etc.
Afterwards I realized it's like stolen so I messaged the person and told him I want to return it but he's now insisting that the contract will be paid for monthly.
What do I do? I sold the phone now, what do I do with the money from it? Is it halal for me to use or must give it away in charity?
Q: When I was a child I remember one of the neighbours close to us had a garden that from what I remember was quite messy like things were about and one thing there was a tricycle and it looked like the one I had when I was a child and to think at the time I thought someone must have dumped my tricycle there so I took it out.
However I cannot ascertain if it did belong to me and perhaps I took someone’s tricycle, maybe I thought the garden was messy so my tricycle was dumped there.
I believe the family have moved out now and there are new owners of the house. Would I have to approach the current owners to see if they are in contact with the old owners so I can ask the old owners for forgiveness and pay them if that is required of me.
Q: If someone deposits stolen cash into my account and later shares it with me, am I guilty or not?
Q: If I bought a phone with haraam money, can I use it for a halaal online business?
