Some questions relating to Halaal & Haraam

Q:

  1. Do you agree that all food in makkah and medina are halaal ?
  2. A muslim owned restaurant where one is not sure if the food is halaal but cannot take a qasam. can it be considered to be halaal?
  3. Can one use the environment of a restaurant to judge if it is halaal. eg islamic frames ?
  4. In other countries can one eat fish and chips, fruits and veg without question from any where ?
  5. If you said no for number 3, in other countries can this method be used ?

Using the left hand placing the right hand under the glass when drinking water

Q: While eating, right hand gets greasy, etc. Then most people feel dirty to take the glass with the right hand. Instead they would take it with left hand and right hand would assist by putting their hand under the glass. However, I feel that is just feeble excuse but we should still use right hand to drink. After all, we will wash the glasses anyway. Which is right way?

Cognac oil in beverages, etc.

Q: Please can you tell me would this cognac oil be considered Halaal for use in beverages or any other products? 

  • This cognac oil is a key ingredient found in a flavour.
  • The dosage of the cognac oil when in the flavour is 0.04%.
  • The dosage of the cognac oil in the flavour after it has been added to the beverage is 0.00026% and this beverage product is ready to drink

How this Cognac Oil is made

Cognac Oil is also known as 'Wine Lees Oil' or 'Weinhefeoel' (in German). Produced as a by product from the distillation of Cognac (Brandy). It is present in Cognac to the amount of about 2 mg. The aromatic substances contained in cognac oil derived partly from the activities of the particular yeast fungus used, partly from the type of grapes fermented.

The oil is obtained by the steam distillation of the reside of grape tissue and fungus precipitate after fermentation (and distillation) of the alcoholic beverage.
