Voting

Q: Today in the jummah sermon, our mufti sahab said that if one does not vote in the upcoming election for any candidate then he will be sinful (gunah gaar for opting not to vote). I dont like to vote as I know that all the candidates in my constituency are not suitable to be elected. Will I be sinfull?

Informing the municipality with regards to a faulty meter

Q: As you are aware about the corruption in the government presently..we have a building which houses the poor community, which has a common water meter..for some time now there's been a slow reading of the meter. We are passing this benefit on to the tenants,  if we have to inform the municipality..the benefit will stop to the tenants and the rent will increase by R300-00 per unit. The question is should I inform the municipality or let the tenants benefit considering all the corruption taking place.

Boycotting

Q: Does our Shariah allow for the boycotting of a particular country or products from a particular country for political reasons even though the products may be halaal suitable? If we do boycott, will we be guilty of making a halaal product haraam for ourselves?

Voting

Q: Is voting permissible? If I live in Pakistan and I vote for a Muslim who will work for the betterment of the country. If I won't vote, maybe a wrong person comes in charge and can destroy our country.

Voting

Q: The presidential elections will take place in France in May. Is it permissible for the Muslims to participate in the voting or not? Some say that it is not allowed to vote because the people who will be in power will not apply the laws of Allah? What are our dalail for this? And also, is it permissible for a Muslim to take part in the no-Muslim political party?
