Q: I am married for five years and we have a 3 year old son. Alhamdulillah we used to live in Saudi Arabia but because of our financial status I came to India since 1 year and he comes on vacations. He loves me a lot and I also loves him. We both take care of each other very well and we both are very loyal to each other in everything. But my husband is a very aggressive person. In aggression he will loose control of himself. He says whatever he tells its right, if sometimes I try to correct him at that time he starts to fight. But I control myself and avoid arguments. Once over a silly argument he told me talaaq through a message but next day he apologised for it. As he said it in anger with out any intention of it, I also forgave him at that time only. But again second time after few months without any real reason in anger and tension on a argument he told me talaaq lelo aur jaao ' through a message. I am very confused with this kind of behaviour. I don't understand what to do. I am sure that he will call and talk with me by tomorrow. Insha Allah. Even he will be sorry for it. But I don't have any Islamic knowledge about this. Is it considered as a real talaaq or as it was unintentional so we can ignore it? Is there any kaffara for it. Please let me know and help me regarding this matter.
A: Two talaaqs have taken place. If your husband revokes the talaaq within the iddat period, you will remain in his nikaah. If he does not revoke the talaaq within the iddat period and the iddat period terminates, then he will not be able to take you back in his nikaah. In that case if you both wish to remarry, then a new nikaah will have to be performed with a separate mahr.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
