Q: I have a question relating to my istikakara I made recently. I read it for a full 7 day duration. On the 5th night I made it and went to sleep. When I got up for fajar I was walking towards the jamaat and got a feeling that felt positive. But one of the brothers told me that it's supposed to be immediately when waking up from one's sleep. Could I get some clarification? My istikara is basically regarding a girl for marriage.
A: This is not a precondition for the istikhara being positive that immediately upon awakening one has a feeling. Hence, if you feel positive and your parents and elders are happy with the girl, her Deen, her akhlaaq and the family of the girl, then you may propose for her.
