Q: I have a book of Ibn Sireen (RA). I sometimes have dreams which have unpleasant interpretations.
- If this occurs what can be done for the interpretation not to become effective?
- If the interpretation is unpleasant, should the person take it to be as if its going to still happen or as if it will not happen?
- Is it good for a person look up all the dreams he has or not? If not, which dreams should he look up the interpretations?
A: The knowledge of interpretation of dreams is a science on its own. Just as one refers to those who are knowledgeable in other sciences (whether deeni related or dunya related and when one is faced with a physical ailment or an acute sickness one will not independently refer to the medical journals or books), similarly one ought to refer this matter to those who are knowledgeable in this department of Deen as well.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best..
