Dream

Q: My friend saw this dream. She is married, has problems in her life. She works in a company. She lives in USA. In her dream she was coming out of mosque and saw many slippers over there. She was searching for her slipper but among the many slippers there was one pair of slippers which was very big in size, she never saw such big pair of slippers so she was going to touch it, then she heard one voice which said " don't touch that slippers as it belongs to Huzoor'' Can you please tell us the tabeer of this dream?

A: Shari'ah commands women to remain within the confines of their home. Without a valid Shar'ee need, they should not leave their homes. It is not in keeping to the Islamic teachings and culture that a woman venture out of her home and intermingle and rub shoulders with the opposite sex in the working environment. This type of lifestyle (where the spouses do not fulfil the roles which have been stipulated for them by the Shari'ah) is sure to create upheavals and instability in one's marital life. The husband is shouldered with the obligation and responsibility of earning and supporting his family. It is recorded in the Mubaarak Hadith that Hadhrat Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) instructed Hadhrat Faatimah (radhiyallahu anha) (at the time of her nikaah with Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu)) to fulfil the responsibilities within the home and instructed Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) to fulfil the responsibilities out of the home.

The meaning of the dream is you should be faithful to your husband, serve him, obey him (in those things that conform to Shari'ah) and do not venture out of the home.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
