Carrying out nafl qurbaani after one's waajib qurbaani

Q:

1. Aside from the fardh obligation of Qurbani upon one's self, is there anyone else on who's behalf we should perform Qurbani?

2. If a person has debts or needs to build capital due to just coming out of debt, should he perform the extra Qurbani?

A:

1. Every other qurbani will be optional. Where we do qurbani for others, passing on the thawaab to others, this is totally optional. However, if someone had made bequest to make qurbani on his behalf after his death and he left wealth for that then to execute such a qurbani will be compulsory.

2. If he is building up his capital he should rather build his capital and when he is in a position of financial strength then he may do the qurbani.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
