Nabi Dawood (alaihis salaam) reciting the praises of Allah Ta'ala

Q: I have heard that the prophet Dawood (Alaihis Salaam) would sing and play instruments. I wanted to know if this was true.
A: We have not heard of anything such as him singing and playing instruments. He would recite the praises of Allah Ta`ala. Like the other Ambiyaa (alaihimus salaam) had recited the book of Allah in a melodious voice he also did the same.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاودَ الْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّيْرَ وَكُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ (الأنبياء: 79)
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاودَ مِنَّا فَضْلًا يَاجِبَالُ أَوِّبِي مَعَهُ وَالطَّيْرَ وَأَلَنَّا لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ (سبأ: 10)
