Woman cutting her hair

Q: I know that women are not allowed to cut their hair. But if her hair grows really long and reaches below the buttocks, is she allowed to cut the excess hair? The hair is really thin at the bottom and looks ugly.
A: As far as possible she should avoid it. But if it really becomes cumbersome and difficult to manage then she may cut the hair below the buttocks.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
