Regarding the different qiraats to be Islamic traditional art

Q: As we know, there are various types of qiraat (I mean, reciting the Quraan in different dialects). Could we represent qiraat art as Islamic traditional art? I am using the word 'tradition' because this art is being delivered by centuries to the next generation.

A: The traditional arts which you speak about refers to things that commence among a certain people or a certain place and thereafter it is passed on from time to time. As far as the Quraan Majeed with its various dialects is concerned, it does not resemble the traditional arts you are speaking about, rather it is Divine and Divinely revealed from Allah Ta'ala. Hence, referring to it as a traditional art is not correct as well as not in keeping with the respect of the Quraan Majeed.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
