Hadith regarding killing dogs
Q: I read a hadith in the authentic hadith books that the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) commanded the Sahaabah to kill dogs. Why did he order us to kill dogs?
A: This law was revealed when Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) came to Madinah Munawwarah after performing hijrah. Later on, this law was abrogated. Hence, this law is no longer applicable.
We advise that you do not study hadith on your own through self study. If you wish to learn Ahaadith, then you should rather study Ahaadith under the guidance of an experienced Aalim.
Self studies can prove extremely detrimental as it is the means for doubts and confusion being created in one's mind, and thereafter this confusion is passed on to others.
