Muslim being in an environment that has symbols of kufr

Q: Is it appropriate or allowed for a Muslim woman to be and sit in an environment that has symbols of kufr such as crosses, photographs etc. ? Knowing that she much rather be at home.

A: How far have we drifted from the right course that these things that were distinct and clear have to be asked. A Muslim cannot be in such environments. Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) said it very clearly, "How can we enter homes that have pictures and images." Symbols of kufr are much worse than these statues and images. Allamah Shaami (rahmatullahi alaih) speaks of such places as "buyootush shayaateen" - homes of shaytaans.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
