Making salaam after two rakaats of a four rakaat sunnah salaah when jamaat salaah commences

Q: If I make niyat of 4 rakaat sunnah salaah and the imaam starts jamaat salaah, can I make salaam after two rakats to join the jamaat salaah and make the remaining two rakaats after the jamaat salaah?

A: It is permissible for you to make salaam after two rakaats and join the jamaat salaah. However, you will have to repeat your entire four rakaat sunnah salaah after your fardh salaah.
