Interacting with non-Muslims

Q: Is it correct to say that we should hate the kuffar (even those who don't oppress us) since they are enemies of Allah Ta'alaa, and our enemy, like how it comes in Quran, that the kuffar are open enemies to the Muslims?

A: One should understand that those who have not believed in Allah Ta'ala are the enemies of Allah Ta'ala. Therefore, we should not get close to them, befriend them or emulate them in their ways. However, since they are also the creation of Allah Ta'ala, we are asked to invite them to Islam and be fair and just towards them in our dealings. Similarly, we should be kind to those who do not oppress the Muslims. Perhaps, the kind gesture that we show them will be a means of them entering into the fold of Islam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
