Sunni Moulana performing a nikaah between a Shia boy and Sunni girl

Q: Can a Sunni Moulana perform a nikaah between a Shia boy and Sunni girl?

A: Shiahs and Muslims are poles apart. Shias believe that the Qur’aan Shareef has been distorted. Similarly, they also believe that the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) had turned apostate, Allah forbid. The one who believes in this is obviously a kaafir.

Hence, it is not permissible for the Sunni Moulana to perform the nikaah between the Shiah boy and Sunni girl. If he performs the nikaah between them, the nikaah will not be valid, and if they live together, they will be living perpetually in zina.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
