Signs of an accepted taubah

Q: I have a sin that troubles me alot like when I think of it my heart feels heavy. I have made tawbah and made a firm intention in my heart to never resort back to that sin. I'd like to know what's the signs of an accepted taubah?
A: The sign of an accepted taubah is where one reforms his life and refrains from the sins which he made taubah from. Hence, if you are refraining from the sin, then insha Allah, this is a sign of your taubah being accepted, even though at times the thought of the sin troubles you. Whenever the thought of the sin troubles you, then you should turn to Allah Ta'ala and beg Him to keep you loyal to Him and keep you firm on your taubah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
