Q: Can you guide me with the procedure of converting from Shia to Sunni as my fiancee is willing to do that but we don't know the proper way?
A: The right way is for the person to say that he has abandoned all the corrupt, false Shiah beliefs and he will try his best to commit himself to the beliefs and practices of the Ahlus Sunnah. If you are not clear about this then you may refer to someone as to what are the Shiah beliefs and practices and the sunni beliefs and practices.
In essence, one needs to believe that the Quraan is the unchanged word of Allah Ta`ala and to respect all the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) and have conviction that they are believers and they are the greatest people after Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) in this ummat with Hadhrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu anhu) being first in rank, then Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) and then Hadhrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu anhu) and Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu).
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
