Voice cloning
Q: My wife found a audio voice clip on a memory card but it's not my memory card. I have never used any memory card. She sent me that voice clip and I heard that voice clip. It sounds the same like my voice talking to a girl. I know it's not mine and she is telling me that this is you.
A: This type of mischief has escalated with the commencement of voice cloning. Indeed it is a great mischief and whoever perpetrates this and defames an innocent Muslim is exposing himself to great disaster. The Quraan Shareef says:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةُ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread [or publicized] among those who have believed will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah Ta`ala knows and you do not know. (Surah Noor)
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
