Woman being targeted at the workplace
Q: I am frustrated in my life, as my colleagues in my office work always target me. As a lady, I find it difficult to defend myself. Please help.
A: The hadith teaches that the best place for a woman is her home. Through remaining at home, she will safeguard her deen and chastity and will be saved from all types of fitnah in regard to her deen and dunya.
In the corporate environment, a woman is faced with many challenges and is forced to compromise in her deen and deeni morals and values. She will have to rub shoulders with strange men, speak to them freely without observing any purdah and her clothing will have to conform to the anti-islamic environment that she finds herself in.
In essence, when a woman is exposed to this type of western and anti-islamic culture which opposes the very fabric of hayaa and goes against the laws of shariah, then she will definitely face hardships and problems and this type of outcome (of abuse) is bound to take place.
Hence, you should stay at home and do something from home to earn a halaal income (e.g. baking, cooking, etc.) even though you may earn less money. May Allah Ta'ala bless you with barakah in your life and sustenance.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
