Possessing the nisaab amount during the days of qurbaani

Q: My daughter feels that she has plenty of bills and chronic medical condition payments to see to. Is she liable for qurbaani?

A: If qurbaani is compulsory upon her, then she must do the qurbaani. In order to ascertain whether qurbaani is compulsory upon her, she should see whether she possesses the nisaab amount during the days of qurbaani (i.e. after deducting her debts and liabilities).
