Should there be a reason to take more than one wife?

Q: Should there be a reason to take more than 1 wife, or a condition to marry a second wife?

A: This sunnah is based on a person's need. If a husband has the need to take a second wife, it is permissible for him to do so on condition that he upholds equality and justice when dealing with both his wives.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
